Job Title: Construction Supervisor
Summary: Apex Group is a leading Engineering and construction services company providing turnkey solutions to Telecom, Cable, and Electric Utilities. The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of field crews and subcontractors, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to safety and quality standards. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities, while effectively managing both people and resources.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring projects are progressing on schedule and within budget.
- Communicate company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence by all field crews and subcontractors.
- Regularly visit job sites to monitor progress, assess risks, and ensure high-quality work is being performed.
- Address any job site issues or conflicts, coordinating with both internal teams and external customers to resolve problems.
- Coordinate material orders, equipment needs, and on-site logistics with the Warehouse Supervisor and project teams.
- Manage and document any changes in project scope, maintaining accurate change orders and reporting them.
Project Management:
- Ensure project milestones and customer expectations are met by supervising and managing subcontractors, vendors, and crew members.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and coordinate with back-office engineers as required, including daily reports, timecards, as-built redlines, quality control reports, and closeout packages.
- Provide daily progress updates for management and clients, tracking key metrics, timelines, etc.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train construction crews, ensuring safety policies, OSHA/MOSH regulations, and company standards are followed.
- Support and motivate the crew, ensuring high performance, timely completion of tasks, and adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor crew performance, taking disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain a productive work environment.
Customer Service & Communication:
- Serve as the primary contact for client counterparts, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns and obtaining signoffs when necessary.
- Coordinate with city and county representatives, subcontractors, and customers to ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications.
- Ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately using software and submitted promptly by the project teams and subcontractors.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce all safety regulations, including OSHA/MOSH standards, ensuring that job sites are safe and compliant.
- Conduct safety meetings, ensure all crew members are trained on proper tool and equipment usage, and monitor compliance on-site.
- Conduct site walk-throughs with customers and internal teams prior to the start of each project to identify any safety or logistical concerns.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of construction experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within the utility or telecom industry.
- Ability to read and interpret utility plans, construction drawings, and general contracts.
- Strong knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and practices, with a focus on safety.
- Experience managing subcontractors, field crews, and large-scale construction projects.
- Certification in OSHA/MOSH 30 Safety Training required.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
