Job Title: Survey Technician
Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Survey Technician to join our team in Central Florida, covering Lake County, Polk County, and Osceola County! The ideal candidate will excel in performing detailed route planning from the existing plant to the customer, outlining all construction requirements for proposed routes. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role, perfect for someone with commercial survey experience.
Position Highlights:

- Travel: 95% travel using your own vehicle

Key Responsibilities:
- Pull and review cable prints from ShareFile to validate tie-points, plan in-field routes, and organize daily tasks for issued surveys.
- Clear and close walkout surveys serviceable by drop.
- Perform commercial walkout and desktop surveys to provide new service to end users.
- Complete all tasks in accordance with customer and industry specifications, ensuring all timelines are met (3-day turnaround per survey).
- Create detailed routes from the existing plant to the customer demark, noting all construction requirements.
- Collect and document accurate field data for aerial and underground telecommunications, including fiber, coax, poles, pedestals, and more.
- Submit completed survey data to the Project Manager daily.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of cable mapping experience (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of cable design, OSP construction practices, and CATV project requirements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting maps, drawings, and diagrams.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF Editor; ability to learn new software.
- Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, observational, and communication skills.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Additional Information:
- Perform daily field walkouts across varying terrain and weather conditions in Lake County, Polk County, and Osceola County, FL.
- Travel 95% of the time using your own vehicle (fuel allowance provided).
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and accuracy of survey data.
